I was going through an episode of 80s Mahou Shoujo show Pastel Yumi as I’d heard it had some animation by Obari.
In ep 3, Yumi gets taken by a Gorilla and so the grandpa gives the gorilla a flying kick, as the kick lands, for a split second you can see the original Dancouga appear! Most out of place key frame I’ve seen.

Gahh, look what Shane Glines just posted! Such gorgeous, fun drawings. He says these were 2001 development art for an unmade Harley & Ivy series…

I say these should make it into a round two for DC Nation, if there will be one.

why the fuck didn’t this get made, everyone would have watched it

Reminds me a little of this drawing by Shigeto Koyama

ANIME OF THE YEAR CONFIRMED.

Watched some of the Juushin Liger anime last night and episode 2 featured quite a few cuts with really stretched out animation smears. Thought they were pretty cool.

the 1969 Lupin III pilot has some really nice cartoony visuals. there’s a great sense of fun to the drawings that I hope the new Koike show will manage to pull off (and which most of the recent TV specials have certainly not replicated)

Such a shame this was never released on DVD or BD.
Would liked to have seen Junichi Hayama’s JoJo animation once again.
